Good things come in threes, so here are mine. Three stories that tell you more about me than any list of stations. They share one thing: I see a gap and cannot let it be.
It started at 24. A flatmate kept his hamster in a plastic cage with plastic toys, and it would not let me rest. No shop sold anything better. So I built an e-commerce business for species-appropriate supplies and had a wooden running wheel made by a joinery in Poland, back when the market offered only metal and plastic. See a gap, build the thing that fills it.
The same reflex, a few sizes bigger. When the Škoda Enyaq launched in 2021, the car was there but the honest everyday answers were not. The maker communicated past the real questions, dealers were still learning the system themselves, and no community knowledge existed yet. So I documented mine, measurement by measurement, question by question. It grew into Europe's largest independent Škoda EV community on YouTube, over 46'000 people and millions of views, and the instrument through which Škoda's CEO publicly thanked me for keeping the customer's perspective honest.
E-Guide, one year after launch
The third story has nothing to do with work. We live in the mountains, which makes our pull to the sea look strange. But what I love on a summit is the distance, the long look into the open, and standing up there I sometimes catch the salt of an ocean that is not even there. The sea gives me that same horizon at eye level. We are a family that needs it, and we find it in the north, again and again in Scandinavia, in every season. Our dog is named Marley, after Bob Marley, whose song Three Little Birds has been with my wife and me since our very first day together. Because every little thing is gonna be alright. That has held true ever since we found each other in 2014. Marley is convinced that a wide beach to run on is the highest form of existence. Watch him hit the waves once and it is hard to argue.
